What are we looking for?
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following key capabilities, knowledge and experience. Within the context of the responsibilities described under ‘your key responsibilities', the ideal applicant will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
Clinical Practice / Expertise
Knowledge, expertise and skill in radiochemistry relevant to working in a multidisciplinary radiation and nuclear science service delivery team.
A conscientious and positive team member with the versatility to organise their duties to efficiently progress work on a range of concurrent work programs.
Communication / Team Participation
Regular clear communication with Radiation and Nuclear Science colleagues to ensure efficient service delivery. This includes developing and adhering to procedural systems for task management in a multidisciplinary team.
Work as a team to meet objectives. This includes conducting priority tasks normally performed by others whilst colleagues are on leave or otherwise committed.
Follow scientific and task management guidance provided by the Senior Radiochemist; and providing progress feedback to the Senior Radiochemist.
Clear, concise communication on a broad range of issues pertaining to radioanalytical services to clients and stakeholders. This includes written reports, emails, phone conversations, and presentations.
Leadership / Work Unit Management
Participate in the planning, initiation and evaluation of service improvement initiatives.
Mandatory qualifications, professional registrations or other requirements
Bachelor's Degree in science with a major in radiochemistry, chemistry, or agreed equivalent.
Relevant post graduate qualifications are not mandatory, but advantageous.
Be eligible to acquire a licence to use radioactive substances under the Radioactive Substances Act 1999.
This position may be required to travel and work in regional Queensland and inter-state for more than two (2) days at a time.
A current C Class Drivers Licence is required.This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Australia License.
